We're currently recruiting a dedicated Nurse to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Compass Group UK&I on a part time basis, contracted to 24 hours per week. Our facility is open 24/7 so your hours will be worked as 2 x 12 hour shifts which will be a mix of days, nights, weekdays and weekend shifts. More about the role: You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, alternating between our Primary Care facility and our Bedded Down facility, delivering both general nursing care and primary healthcare to our population of 16 & 17 year old Junior Soldiers as well as permanent military staff, at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate. Your key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Assessing and treating patients attending with minor injury and minor illness presentations
- Delivering high quality, person-centred care using up-to-date evidence-based knowledge
- Undertaking nursing treatments and procedures for patients e.g. wound care, suture removal, ECGs, vaccinations, phlebotomy
- Participating in health screening duties and health promotion
- Assessing and re-evaluating clinical situations and acting accordingly
- Monitoring and improving standards of care through evidence-based practice, clinical audit, research and education
Who you are: Our ideal candidate will:
- Have a current Nursing and Midwifery Council Registration
- Have a state-approved or recognised Diploma or Degree in Adult Nursing
- Have appropriate post-registration experience in a Primary Care environment (however training can be given to the right candidate)
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills
- Be IT-literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Be an effective team member
- Be able to work unsupervised
- Be able to organise and prioritise workload
- Be able to demonstrate continuing professional development
