We are currently recruiting an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen operation in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and organised chef looking for a great work-life balance in a Monday-Friday role.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and production of all menus in line with Compass requirements
  • Full responsibility for allergen safety and staff training
  • Use of Compass ordering and menu systems
  • Ownership and completion of the Food Safety Log Book
  • Completion of all daily food production and wastage sheets
  • Delivery checks, stock storage, and correct stock rotation
  • Regular stock taking
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in line with the cleaning schedule, including role-specific equipment
  • Working closely with the Unit Manager to ensure full compliance with Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements

About You

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Skilled across all areas of food production, including pastry and baking
  • Computer literate with experience using ordering and menu systems
  • Quality-focused with excellent attention to detail
  • Creative, consistent, and calm under pressure
  • Able to deliver high standards of food consistently
