We're looking for an exceptional Assistant Caf Manager to support the day-to-day operation of an exciting new social caf space at St. Andrews @ Knighthead Park, home of Birmingham City Football Club. This isn't a traditional caf. It's a destination designed to bring people together - a workplace caf, informal meeting space, social hub, hospitality touchpoint and vibrant matchday destination.
As Assistant Caf Manager, you'll work alongside the Caf Manager to help create an environment where guests feel welcomed, teams feel inspired and every interaction reflects the very best of hospitality. You'll play a hands-on role in leading the team, maintaining high standards and ensuring the venue consistently delivers exceptional experiences. We're looking for someone who combines strong operational awareness with genuine warmth, energy and a passion for people.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the Caf Manager and Levy leadership team, you'll support all aspects of the caf's daily operation while helping to shape a welcoming, high-performing and commercially successful environment. You'll be a visible leader on the floor, supporting the team during busy service periods, championing great hospitality and helping to ensure every guest leaves with a positive impression. What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting Daily Operations
You'll help ensure the caf runs smoothly, efficiently and consistently, delivering an excellent experience for every guest. You'll:
- Support the day-to-day operation of the caf and social space
- Help create an environment that feels welcoming, vibrant and well-presented
- Support opening, service and closing procedures
- Maintain high standards across coffee, food and grab-and-go offers
- Assist with managing guest flow and service during peak periods
- Support matchday operations and event activity
- Work collaboratively with club teams and partners to maintain operational excellence
- Supporting and Developing the Team

- Supporting Commercial Performance
You'll understand the role great service plays in driving business success. You'll:
- Support delivery of sales and profitability targets
- Monitor product availability and presentation standards
- Assist with stock management and ordering processes
- Support merchandising, promotions and seasonal campaigns
- Help identify opportunities to increase guest engagement and repeat visits
- Contribute ideas to continuously improve the offer and customer experience
- Maintaining Standards
You'll help ensure operational excellence across all aspects of the venue. You'll:
- Support compliance with food safety, health & safety and allergen procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the caf
- Assist with stock control and operational administration
- Help ensure company policies and brand standards are consistently met
- Support the Caf Manager in maintaining a safe and efficient working environment
About You
We're looking for someone who brings:
- Experience within a caf, hospitality, food service or guest-facing environment
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
