Location: Ulster University – Belfast Campus

Hours available: 10 hrs per week, 25 hrs per week, 35 hours per week

Compass Group, a leading foodservice and hospitality provider across the UK and Ireland, are delighted to partner with Ulster University to provide catering and hospitality services to its students, staff and visitors across its campuses.

We are looking for Bar Assistants to join our dedicated hospitality team at the Belfast Campus. As a Bar Assistant, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for students, staff, visitors and colleagues. You will provide friendly and efficient service, support the smooth running of the bar and hospitality operation, and help maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and customer care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing friendly, professional and welcoming customer service at all times.
  • Serving hot and cold food and beverages during service periods.
  • Operating the till, processing payments and providing accurate change.
  • Supporting sales through positive and proactive customer service.
  • Maintaining clean, tidy and welcoming bar, counter, seating and work areas.
  • Receiving, checking, storing and rotating stock appropriately.
  • Following all company and statutory requirements relating to health, safety, food hygiene and cash handling.

About You: We are looking for someone who is passionate about customer service and enjoys being part of a team. You will need to be friendly, reliable and adaptable, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Essential Criteria:

  • Good verbal communication skills in order to be able to liaise with a wide range of customers and colleagues.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Available to work unsociable hours.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in environments involving high levels of customer care.
  • 2 years past experience as a bar tender.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in relevant area.
