ESS, the specialist Energy & Infrastructure sector of Compass Group, provides market‑leading catering, hospitality, and support services to Energy and Infrastructure clients across the UK. As our portfolio continues to grow, we are expanding our operational team and are now seeking a Business Support Manager to help drive exceptional service delivery and operational performance.
The role supports the effective delivery of operational services across the sub-sector including supporting the implementation of new processes, procedures and ways of working, mobilisations and/or demobilisations and managing the regional office. The postholder supports the EGI senior leadership team by coordinating travel, meetings, and events, including planning, logistics, and last-minute changes, to ensure smooth and efficient execution. The postholder works closely with senior operational leaders to implement plans, monitor performance, manage suppliers, and maintain strong relationships internally and externally.
Requirements
- Experience in an operational and/or support role, including managing teams and/or contributing to complex mobilisations and demobilisations.
- Experience working in complex operational environments.
- Experience supporting delivery of business objectives, driving innovation, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Results-focused, adaptable, and able to respond effectively to changing priorities.
- Strong customer focus with a proven record of delivering high levels of client satisfaction.
- Full, valid driving licence.
- Holds, or is willing to obtain, required offshore certifications: OEUK Medical and Food Handlers Medical (including shoulder measurements), BOSIET/FOET, and MIST.
- Due to offshore safety requirements, this role is subject to OEUK Safe Weight Limit guidelines, effective from 1 November 2026.

- Experience working in the Energy and/or Infrastructure sector.
- Experience delivering catering and facilities management services.
- Experience supporting budget and P&L management, with strong commercial and financial awareness.
- Experience assisting in change programmes that deliver measurable operational benefits.
- Qualification in Management & Leadership.
