Are you an experienced hospitality, catering, or Soft FM leader looking for your next challenge? ESS Defence is seeking a Hospitality Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality accommodation, catering, housekeeping, bar, and hospitality services within a busy military environment.

In this varied and rewarding role, you'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the hospitality provision, ensuring exceptional customer service, strong financial performance, and full compliance with health, safety, and food safety standards. You'll lead and develop a dedicated team, build strong relationships with military stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of service delivery.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading all hospitality and Soft FM services, including catering, accommodation, housekeeping, bars, and events
  • Managing budgets, labour costs, stock control, billing, and financial performance
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety, food safety, and contractual standards
  • Building strong relationships with clients, customers, and military stakeholders
  • Driving service excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement
  • Recruiting, developing, and motivating a high-performing team

We're looking for:

  • Management experience within hospitality, catering, Soft FM, or a similar service environment
  • Proven people leadership and team development skills
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness
  • Knowledge of health & safety and food safety requirements
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and customer service skills
  • Confidence working independently and making operational decisions

Desirable:

  • Experience within a military or defence environment
  • Knowledge of hospitality accounting and billing processes
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
  • Catering, hospitality, or FM-related qualifications
