We’re looking for a hands-on, organised, and energetic Head Kitchen Porter to lead our Kitchen Porter team in Bermondsey. If you love structure, take pride in spotless standards, and enjoy leading from the front, this could be the role for you.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the KP Team
- Manage, motivate, and support the Kitchen Porter team
- Organise rotas and staffing levels for busy service periods and events
- Handle holidays, sickness cover, and day-to-day team coordination
- Train and induct new team members to site and Compass standards
- Keep Standards High
- Make sure all kitchen, wash-up, storage, loading, and waste areas are clean, safe, and organised
- Maintain Food Safety, HACCP, COSHH, and Health & Safety compliance
- Manage cleaning schedules and deep cleans
- Ensure chemicals are stored and used correctly
- Stock & Operations
- Order cleaning chemicals, consumables, and equipment
- Monitor stock levels and reduce wastage
- Maintain COSHH folders and cleaning records
- Report maintenance and equipment issues quickly and efficiently
- Support the Bigger Picture
- Work closely with chefs and front-of-house teams during busy services
- Help drive sustainability and recycling initiatives
- Play a key role in delivering a smooth and professional kitchen operation every day
What We’re Looking For
- Previous Kitchen Porter experience, ideally in a supervisory role
- Strong understanding of hygiene and kitchen safety standards
- Experience managing rotas and small teams
- Reliable, organised, and proactive attitude
- Someone who leads by example and isn’t afraid to roll their sleeves up
Bonus Points For:
- Food Safety Level 2
- COSHH certification
- Experience in contract catering or busy B&I environments
