We are currently recruiting for a Front of House Hospitality Assistant to join our internal agency team and work at one of our beautiful venues - Royal Society of Arts (RSA).
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to deliver an exceptional service to all clients, fellows, and visitors by providing a warm welcome, offering assistance, and ensuring all events run smoothly and successfully. This includes event setup and support, as well as acting as a key point of contact for internal communications - particularly between Reception and the Reception Manager. This is an established position within RSA, forming part of a small, collaborative team that works closely with both the catering and maintenance staff. The role operates in a fast-paced environment, often managing multiple priorities simultaneously. It is essential to communicate information clearly and accurately with team members, particularly given the frequent need to work within tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Oversee the daily setup and breakdown of events, including furniture movement, stage setup, room turnarounds, and chef service areas.
- Carry out cloakroom duties as required.
- Greet, assist, and direct visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Develop a good understanding of RSA programmes and activities to effectively inform fellows and visitors.
- Maintain a professional appearance in line with agreed uniform standards, representing the organisation positively.
- Work collaboratively across teams, supporting administrative tasks within a ‘One RSA’ approach.
- Ensure all visitors receive timely and appropriate assistance.
- Accurately interpret the booking system and stay informed of event requirements.
- Take responsibility for signage throughout the building, ensuring it complies with brand guidelines.
- Provide support with ad hoc tasks as needed.
- Keep all public areas clean, tidy, and presentable at all times, including carrying out regular house checks.
