We are looking for a reliable, organised and proactive Dispatch & Stores Assistant to support the smooth day-to-day running of our dispatch, stores and kitchen operations. This is a hands-on role that involves assisting with dispatch coordination, receiving and organising deliveries, stock control, food preparation support and maintaining excellent hygiene and safety standards throughout the workplace. The successful candidate will work closely with the Dispatch Co-Ordinator and Stores Co-Ordinator and will also provide cover during periods of absence. During quieter periods, you will support the wider kitchen team with basic food preparation and additional operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch & Order Fulfilment
- Assist with checking orders to ensure accuracy before dispatch
- Support the coordination of dispatch timings to meet production and delivery schedules
- Ensure all items are dispatched safely and on time
- Maintain clean, safe and organised dispatch areas
- Receiving Goods & Storage
- Assist with checking supplier deliveries for quantity, quality and damages
- Record temperatures of chilled and frozen deliveries
- Store goods correctly in line with Food Safety and Food Hygiene standards
- Maintain FIFO stock rotation procedures
- Keep storage and stock areas clean and organised
- Stock Control & Operations Support
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support stock counts
- Assist with stock replenishment and ordering processes
- Organise products and ingredients for kitchen sections
- Prepare ingredients in line with production plans
- Support chefs with stock readiness and operational requirements
- Health & Safety & COSHH
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and company policies
- Ensure safe use, handling and storage of cleaning chemicals
- Maintain hygiene stations and cleanliness standards
- Report hazards, damages or equipment issues promptly
- Cleaning & Housekeeping
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all operational areas
- Follow cleaning schedules and procedures
- Assist with waste management and recycling processes
- General Responsibilities
- Support the kitchen and operations teams as required
- Assist with food preparation during quieter periods
- Attend training sessions and team meetings
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Carry out additional duties as reasonably required
