- As an
Electrical Engineer , you'll play a vital role in delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance across the AFC Harrogate College estate.
You'll ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard, helping to maintain a safe, compliant and fully operational environment for our client.
Working as part of our Total Facilities Management team, you'll support the delivery of electrical services while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, Health & Safety legislation, current electrical regulations and ISO 9001 quality standards.
More About the Role This is a
Monday to Friday position, working any 8-hour shift between 6:00am and 6:00pm .
There is also a requirement to participate in an on-call rota (1 week in every 4) covering Monday to Sunday, for which an additional payment is provided.
As part of our Total Facilities Management contract at
AFC Harrogate College , you'll work alongside teams delivering catering, cleaning, accommodation, laundry and other essential support services.
Your responsibilities will include
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical repairs across the estate.
- Diagnosing electrical faults and completing repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Completing electrical testing, inspections and certification in line with current regulations.
- Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with Health & Safety legislation, company policies and statutory requirements.
- Using CAFM systems to receive, update and close work orders accurately.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and producing reports where required.
- Supporting the continuous improvement of maintenance procedures and service delivery.
- Working closely with colleagues, contractors and the wider facilities team to deliver an excellent customer experience.
- Participating in the on-call rota and responding to emergency call-outs when required.
- Ensuring tools, equipment and work areas are maintained in a safe and tidy condition.
Who You Are We're looking for a qualified Electrical Engineer who is customer-focused, self-motivated and committed to delivering a first-class maintenance service.
You'll have
- Proven experience within a hard facilities management or building services environment.
- HNC, BTEC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Qualification to the current IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).
- Experience carrying out electrical testing and inspection.
- A sound understanding of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
- Previous experience using CAFM or computerised maintenance management systems.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
