Costa Unit Manager
Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester £33,000 per annum 40 hours per week
We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Costa Unit Manager to lead our Costa Coffee operation at Dorset County Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate retail and hospitality professional to take ownership of a busy, customer-facing environment, driving commercial performance while delivering exceptional customer experiences.
As Costa Unit Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the unit, leading and developing your team, maintaining Costa brand standards, and ensuring every customer receives outstanding service in a welcoming and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team to deliver excellent customer service every day.
- Oversee the daily operation of the Costa unit, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Drive sales performance and identify opportunities to grow revenue and customer satisfaction.
- Manage stock control, ordering, and waste minimisation to maximise profitability.
- Ensure Costa brand standards, food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards are always maintained.
- Monitor financial performance, labour costs and key operational metrics.
- Act as the main point of contact for the unit, resolving issues professionally and effectively.
- Build a positive team culture focused on engagement, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all colleagues are trained, supported and equipped to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
About You
Our ideal candidate will:
- Have previous management experience within a branded coffee, retail, hospitality or foodservice environment.
- Be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating memorable customer experiences.
- Have strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop teams.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Be commercially aware, with experience managing sales, costs and operational performance.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Have a safety-first mindset and commitment to maintaining high standards.
