Chef de Partie – Gamecock Barracks (ESS – Compass Group)
📍 Location: Gamecock Barracks
💰 Salary: £15.55 per hour
⏰ Hours: 35 hours per week
📅 Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7, 2-week rota (1 weekend in 2)
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Chef de Partie to join our friendly team at Gamecock Barracks, part of the ESS – Compass Group.
You’ll play an important role in preparing and serving quality meals for around 200 Service Personnel across three sites within the barracks. 🍽️
Working within a team of 10, you’ll support all aspects of daily kitchen operations to deliver a high standard of service for breakfast, lunch, and evening meals.
Shift Details
Weekly Hours: 35 (includes 30-minute unpaid break)
Shift Pattern: Mixture of earlies and lates (1 weekend in 2)
- Early Shift: 06:30 – 14:00
- Late Shift: 12:30 – 20:00
Meal Service Times:
- Breakfast: 06:30 – 08:30
- Lunch: 12:00 – 13:30
- Evening Meal: 17:00 – 20:00
- Weekend Breakfast: 08:00 – 08:45
- Weekend Brunch: 10:00 – 13:30
- Weekend Evening Meal: 16:45 – 17:30
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience in a previous Chef or Chef de Partie role – essential
- Relevant catering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) – desirable
- Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
- Strong team player with good communication and time management skills
- Flexible approach to shift patterns and duties
