Assistant Catering Manager to support the delivery of patient dining and retail catering services at Rotherham General Hospital.
Working closely with the Catering Manager, you'll lead and develop a team of supervisors and catering colleagues, ensuring high standards, excellent service, and a positive team culture.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone ready to step up from a senior supervisory role or further develop their management career within a busy healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Catering Manager with the day-to-day running of patient dining and retail services.
- Line manage and develop a team of Catering Supervisors.
- Coach, train and motivate teams to deliver exceptional service.
- Assist with stock control, budgets, rotas and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety and company standards.
- Lead by example and support daily operations when needed.
About You
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within catering, hospitality or healthcare.
- Strong leadership, coaching and people development skills.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of operational efficiencies.
- City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2, NVQ equivalent or relevant catering qualification.
- Food Hygiene certification.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Flexible approach to working, including alternate weekends.
