We are currently recruiting a Passionate Relief Chef Manager to bring the flavour to Chartwells on a full-time basis.
Start Date: 31st August 2026.
Working Hours and Terms: Monday to Friday, Term time only (47.6 weeks per year), Contracted to 47.6 weeks per year.
Travel: Travel to schools between Ealing and Reading. Own car preferable, but locations are easily accessible via public transport. Mileage and transportation costs will be covered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and customers.
- Overseeing and implementing menu changes.
- Identifying opportunities to improve our food services.
- Listening and acting on customer feedback to consistently improve our food services.
- Supporting with the creation of new menus and creative food concepts.
- Representing Chartwells and maintaining a positive brand image.
- Monitoring inventories to keep our kitchens well-stocked.
- Overseeing kitchen cleaning responsibilities to maintain hygiene standards.
- Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a role as Chef Manager, demonstrating a track record of catering for large numbers while making customers feel their meal was individually prepared for them.
- Ability to lead, develop, train and inspire a large team with a ‘big personality’ and great people skills.
- Real passion for food and customer service, with enthusiasm and recognition that customer engagement is key.
- Food innovation and development skills, staying up to date with current food trends.
- Ability to communicate at all levels.
- Superb culinary skills.
- Good financial understanding.
- High standards and quality driven.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- A 'Can do' attitude.
