Maitre'D/Duty Manager - Members Dining - AELTC Wimbledon, London | Full-Time / Permanent

Up to £41,000 + bonus and excellent benefits including healthcare, wellbeing support, 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, life assurance, meals on duty, and more.

We're looking for an experienced Maitre'D/Duty Manager with a love of delivering high-end guest experiences to join the passionate hospitality team at The All-England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) Wimbledon. AELTC is one of the world's most iconic sporting locations serving as a private Members Club during 50 weeks of the year and then, for two weeks, hosting The Championships - the world's premier grass court tennis tournament.

As the Maitre'D/Duty Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that guests enjoy flawless dining experiences from overseeing restaurant operations and managing reservations, to working closely with our culinary team, and leading our service team to deliver unparalleled hospitality within a world class sporting environment!

Maitre'D/Duty Manager - The Role

  • Setting the standard for exceptional hospitality, ensuring each member and guest receives personalised attention and impeccable service
  • Leading, supporting, and empowering the waiting team including training and guidance
  • Cultivating strong relationships with members, anticipating their needs and addressing any concerns or special requests with professionalism and efficiency
  • Efficiently managing reservations, orchestrating seating arrangements and accommodating member requests seamlessly using reservation management software
  • Overseeing restaurant floor operations during service hours, ensuring smooth service flow, timely seating, and swift resolution of any issues that may arise
  • Liaising with kitchen staff to facilitate the timely preparation and delivery of food orders, communicating guest preferences and any menu adjustments effectively
  • Handling administrative tasks efficiently, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and financial reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times

  • Proven experience in a similar Duty Manager role within a high-end restaurant or private members club
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with a talent for motivating and inspiring a team
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on building rapport with members and their guests
  • Proficiency in reservation management software and basic computer literacy
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage, including expertise in wine pairing
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to delivering flawless service
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain composed under pressure
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
