We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support the reliability and performance of equipment across both domestic and commercial properties. This role focuses on planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will work across a varied portfolio, ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules across domestic and commercial sites
- Respond to breakdowns and perform effective fault diagnosis and repairs
- Conduct routine servicing of mechanical systems including heating, pipework, pumps, and associated equipment
- Work on gas appliances and systems where qualified
- Perform root cause analysis to reduce repeat issues
- Maintain accurate records using a CAFM or job management system
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health & safety regulations and industry standards
- Liaise with customers, tenants, and internal teams in a professional manner
- Support installation and commissioning of new systems and upgrades
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Proven experience in maintenance within domestic and commercial environments
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Gas qualifications (desirable)
- Experience working on boilers, heating systems, and gas appliances
- Basic electrical knowledge (multi-skilled advantage)
- Experience using CAFM or mobile job systems
- Plumbing or pipefitting experience
