Retail & Concessions Manager – Cheltenham (Full-time, Permanent) £35,000 per annum plus excellent benefits including healthcare, wellbeing support, 23 days' annual leave (plus bank holidays), life assurance, meals on duty and more. The role will own the delivery of a high‑volume retail food and beverage operation, managing up to 16 race days with an estimated income of £12 million. The manager will plan, market and execute retail catering operations, maintaining resourcing, controls and budget to achieve service quality targets.

  • Provide first‑class retail, bar and third‑party concessions across the business.
  • Deliver business performance expectations and standards.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation and consistency.
  • Champion HSE, ensuring compliance with all regulations and statutory/ legal requirements.
  • Support retail budgeting, reporting and financial performance.
  • Ensure delivery of financial targets and key performance indicators.
  • Set and uphold quality and operational standards.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and other departments.
  • Develop and lead personnel to deliver exceptional service.
  • Review performance and optimise sales and profitability, using technology and marketing offers to maximise customer experience.

  • Work with culinary and operational leads on continuous food product development.
  • Coordinate with third‑party suppliers and contractors for effective service delivery.
  • Analyse customer journey, feedback and optimise touchpoints.
  • Review wastage with culinary and cellar teams to support GP% targets.

Person Specification

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a retail and beverage environment.
  • Experience in a multisite outlet, stadium or event catering environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours aligned with stadium activity.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organisational and commercial awareness.
  • Standards and quality‑driven management style.
  • Effective team player with a “can‑do” attitude, energetic, assertive and calm under pressure.
  • Motivated by a passion for quality and excellent service delivery.
  • Direct reports include all bar, food and concessionaire managers.
