We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the Restaurant Manager in delivering exceptional service, strong team performance and commercial results. This is a hands‑on role, leading from the floor, developing the team and ensuring a consistently high‑quality experience for members and guests.
Birchwood at The Conduit, led by chef Will Devlin, is a brand‑new cafe and wine bar that will bring a fresh, ingredient‑led approach rooted in seasonality and sustainable sourcing. Expect bold, thoughtful dishes and a space designed for connection in the heart of Covent Garden.
Responsibilities:
- Lead floor service to deliver a seamless, engaging guest experience
- Build strong guest relationships, personalising service based on preferences
- Monitor standards and resolve issues proactively
- Act as a brand ambassador and uphold company values
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of team members
- Lead, motivate, and develop the team through coaching and feedback
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high‑performing team culture with clear communication
- Oversee daily operations, including setup, service flow, and opening/closing procedures
- Coordinate across FOH, kitchen, and bar while maintaining high standards and compliance
- Drive operational performance, including efficiency, stock control, and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
- Experience in a supervisory or assistant management role in a busy restaurant
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Passion for delivering excellent guest service
- Good understanding of restaurant operations and service flow
- Strong organisational and communication skills
