We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our fantastic catering team at RAF Museum Cosford on a flexible, casual basis. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be part of a hard-working, friendly team with a shared goal of supporting the smooth running of the kitchen and delivering a high-quality food offer for our visitors. Located in Shropshire, the RAF Museum Cosford offers a unique and welcoming setting where guests can relax and enjoy quality food and drink while exploring the museum's impressive collection of historic aircraft and exhibitions.
Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with food preparation
- Make sandwiches and other food items as required
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas and on equipment
- Wash dishes and ensure kitchen hygiene standards are followed
- Support stock control and assist with inventory as needed
- Follow all food safety and health & safety procedures at all times
- Manage duties in a busy kitchen environment and communicate effectively with the team
- Maintain high standards of timekeeping and reliability
Qualifications
- Be aged 17 or over
- Have previous kitchen or food preparation experience
- Be reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn
- Take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation
- Be able to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively
- Be able to work under pressure in a busy kitchen environment
- Demonstrate exceptional timekeeping and reliability
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health and safety at all times
Job Details
This is a zero-hours position, mainly working two days per week, primarily at weekends, with additional shifts available during peak periods. Typical shift hours are 9:00am-4:30pm.
