We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic General Assistants to join our fantastic, busy catering team at the Imperial War Museum North on a flexible, casual basis. As a General Assistant, you will be part of a hard‑working, friendly group who all have the same goal – to deliver exceptional customer service to our visitors.

Compensation and Hours

  • £12.71 per hour
  • Zero‑hour contract
  • 7‑day a week operation; weekend and evening work required
  • Shifts will vary between Monday and Sunday. Successful candidates must be flexible and able to work evenings and weekends.
  • This is a casual zero‑hours role, so hours will vary depending on the needs of the business on a weekly basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a friendly and welcoming service to all visitors.
  • Assist with the preparation and service of food and beverages.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Handle cash and support stock control processes.
  • Welcome and assist guests at events.
  • Set up and clear down event spaces efficiently.
  • Serve food and beverages as required at events.

Qualifications
