About the Role
We are seeking talented and passionate Event Chefs to join our team on a permanent zero-hour contract. While work will be available throughout the year, the majority of hours will be during our peak events season from October to December, supporting a busy programme of conferences, dinners, Christmas parties and private events. Based across two prestigious venues – Royal Armouries Venues in Leeds and the National Railway Museum in York – this is an excellent opportunity for chefs looking for flexible work within a professional events environment, with the potential for ongoing opportunities beyond the peak season.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present high-quality food in line with event specifications and company standards.
- Support the delivery of a wide range of events across both venues.
- Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen compliance.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and service.
- Assist with stock management, food storage, and waste reduction.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
What We're Looking For
- Previous chef experience within events, banqueting, hotels, restaurants, or contract catering.
- Passionate about great-tasting food and exceptional customer service.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operations.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and seasonal peak periods.
- Ability to travel between Leeds and York when required.
