Join our Ministry of Education Healthy School Lunches team as a Coordinator – Operational Support based in Hawkes Bay. In this pivotal role, you’ll be the friendly face of Compass Group, ensuring the safe, timely delivery of meals to multiple schools while fostering strong relationships with customers. You’ll support daily operations through safe driving, efficient deliveries, proactive communication, and operational problem-solving. This is a Permanent position with guaranteed hours per week. Shifts start at 4.00 am, so this would be ideal for early starters.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure vehicle's safety checks have been completed, including attending to the fueling, maintenance and cleanliness thereof.
- Pickup and loading of meals including packing, labeling and sorting at site.
- Delivery of meals, ensuring driving restrictions are adhered to within required time frames.
- Engage with the customer liaison and other staff, and students on occasion, in a professional and courteous manner to potentially find a solution to issues raised.
- Communicate any feedback to manager promptly and ensure that the feedback provider is kept informed on their feedback progress.
- Drop off and pick-up of Cambros to and from assigned locations.
- Take appropriate actions when concerned around food safety and inform manager prior to taking actions.
- Report any accidents, incidents or other events that occurred during the delivery of meals.
- Carry out maintenance program for all vehicles.
- Be the 'face' of Compass Group and the 'voice' of the Customer, building a positive relationship by communicating positively and regularly with the key customer contacts at each site.
You will thrive in this role if you have:
- A valid and full Class 1 NZ Driver’s Licence, a clean police check, and the ability to work unsupervised.
- Strong reliability, physical fitness, and the ability to meet tight delivery timeframes with multiple stops.
- A customer‑first mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships.
- A flexible, hardworking attitude with confidence in following procedures and problem‑solving on the go.
- Prior experience in delivery, driving, or customer‑facing service roles (highly regarded, though not essential).
