Are you ready to lead a vibrant, values-driven team that is transforming young people's access to mental health support? This is your chance to step into a leadership role that blends purpose, influence, and people-first practice. As our Team Leader, you’ll provide day-to-day leadership to a talented team within the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in schools across the area. You’ll support practitioners to deliver safe, effective interventions, while also shaping how we collaborate with schools and partners to meet local needs. This is a role for someone who thrives on variety and challenge. You’ll guide clinical decision-making, oversee risk management, and help embed inclusive, evidence-based practice in everything we do. You won’t just manage; you’ll mentor, develop, and champion the people around you. You’ll be joining a service that listens, adapts, and stays focused on what really matters – supporting children and young people to feel safe, supported and empowered. If you want to grow your leadership career, inspire a passionate team and help shape the future of children and young people’s mental health, this is the role to do it.

You are a confident, compassionate leader who brings energy, insight and integrity to everything you do. You care about getting things right for children and young people, and you know how to support others to deliver safe, effective and meaningful mental health support. You’ll bring:

  • A recognised qualification in a relevant area such as social work, nursing or psychology
  • Registration with a professional body (e.g., NMC, HCPC)
  • Experience delivering CBT and working with children and young people with complex needs
  • A supervision qualification or willingness to complete one
  • Experience leading or managing teams in a multi‑agency setting
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and mental health legislation
  • Analytical skills with confidence using data, systems and digital tools to improve services
  • Excellent communication, planning and workload management skills

You might also bring BABCP accreditation, experience supporting inclusive practice, or involvement in service improvement work. But most of all, you bring the values, resilience and drive to lead with purpose and empathy. If you’re ready to lead a team that cares deeply and deliver constantly, we’d love to meet you.
