Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, toileting and dressing. We’re looking for some friendly and reliable Personal Care Assistants to support me in my daily life.
I am a 18 year old young woman, who is a full‑time wheelchair user, with complex needs; I have a really rare genetic condition (Glutaric Aciduria Type 1), dystonia, unvoluntary movements, severe scoliosis, dislocated right hip, coeliac disease. I have good mental capacity and am studying for A level. I am PEG fed (blends), but I do eat orally too. I am non‑verbal. I use an AAC device to communicate with people around me, do my schoolwork and interact with the outside world. I enjoy the cinema, going bowling, playing boccia (paralympic sport), going to the theatre, meeting my friends out and about, watching TV and I love going shopping and watching/going to football matches. I’m looking for some people who can help me maintain my independence and enjoy my favourite activities.
- Previous experience in a caregiving role is preferred but not essential.
- Experience with SEN is preferred but not essential.
- Be able to drive a wheelchair‑accessible vehicle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, good sense of humor and a positive and fun attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual.
