We are looking for Part‑time Family Support Workers for a Residential Family Assessment Centre – a busy, 7‑bedroom assessment unit. The role’s primary focus is on safeguarding standards and supporting families to achieve positive outcomes in line with OFSTED regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to support Parent & Child placements in a residential setting.
  • Provide support on a waking duty, monitoring family safety and CCTV during night shifts.
  • Perform this role on a rolling shift pattern, 10 pm – 8 am, with flexibility to cover additional shifts as required.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Children’s Residential, Early Years or Children’s Social Care setting.
  • Good knowledge and experience of safeguarding and working with complex families.
  • Strong communication skills to manage complex or challenging situations with families.

Preferable Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience of partnership working with families and external agencies, preferably in Safeguarding or Looked‑After Children’s Teams.
  • Level 3 – Health & Social Care (Child/Young People or Parent & Child) – may be completed while in post.
