Work in a children’s home that makes a positive, lasting difference to children’s lives. This role is ideal for experienced Residential Workers or Youth Workers, as well as those with no previous experience who are looking to build a career in residential care. We are looking for determined, caring and thoughtful people to become long-lasting, significant adults in a child’s life, and this could be the role for you.
Qualifications
- Age 22 years or above (to meet Ofsted regulations).
- Caring, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with others.
- Valid manual driving licence.
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Previous experience is not essential for this role.
Our Skills to Care induction includes 2 separate weeks of classroom-based training and a week of shadow shifts to prepare for the new role.
Responsibilities
- Help facilitate children’s activities and appointments, supporting them in all aspects of their lives.
- Ensure their health and wellbeing, safeguarding them at all times.
- Meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.
- Support the wider team with a range of domestic tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and food shopping.
- Create timetables, manage paperwork and write reports.

- ÂŁ50 per sleep-in.
- 224 hours holiday, gradually increasing to 248 hours after 4 years working with us.
