Compass Community is seeking a dedicated School Operations Officer to ensure the smooth running of our school’s non‑teaching operations. This pivotal role sits between office staff and senior leadership, making a real difference to our staff, pupils, and families.

About The Role

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the school office, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front‑of‑house service.
  • Manage school systems and databases, including pupil records, attendance, and safeguarding.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Headteacher and wider school team.
  • Coordinate maintenance, health and safety checks, and resource orders.
  • Support statutory data submissions and compliance processes.
  • Act as the first point of contact for parents and carers, ensuring timely and professional communication.
  • Organise school meetings and events, including agendas and minute‑taking.
  • Support with HR administration, admissions, and financial compliance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong administrative experience, ideally in education, social care, or a regulatory setting.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Highly organised, with outstanding attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Clear communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Discreet, professional, and committed to confidentiality.
  • Collaborative, resilient, and motivated by supporting others and improving systems.
  • A child‑centred outlook, aligned with Compass’ REACH ethos.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong administrative experience, ideally in a social care, education or regulatory setting.
