Qualifications
- Is 22 years of age or above (to meet Ofsted regulations).
- Is caring, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with others.
- Has a valid manual driving licence.
- Has the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Previous experience is not essential for this role.
Our Skills to Care induction includes 2 separate weeks of classroom‑based training and a week of shadow shifts to prepare for the new role. You will also be supported to achieve your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare. This qualification is achievable within a 12‑month period, at which point you will be a Level 3 qualified Residential Support Worker, supporting your ongoing development and career progression with Compass.
Responsibilities
- You will help facilitate children’s activities and appointments, supporting them in all aspects of their lives.
- You will ensure their health and wellbeing, safeguarding them at all times.
- You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.
- You will support the wider team with a range of domestic tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and food shopping.
- You will create timetables, manage paperwork and write reports.
