As Compass Community continues to develop and strengthen its education and SEND provision, the Applications Administrator – Education & SEND Systems will play a critical role in supporting and administering the organisation’s core education and safeguarding platforms. The role is responsible for the day-to-day administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of the ECO system of applications that underpin educational delivery, operational compliance, and SEND support across schools and education settings. Key systems include Bromcom (primary MIS) and CPOMS (core safeguarding and pastoral system), alongside other applications that support learning, attendance, behaviour, SEND provision, and statutory reporting.
Reporting to the Head of Applications, the postholder will work closely with education leaders, SEND professionals, safeguarding teams, and operational colleagues to ensure systems are reliable, compliant, user-friendly, and aligned with Compass’s child-centred and education-led approach.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the primary administrator for education-focused applications, including Bromcom, CPOMS, and associated SEND systems.
- Configure system settings, user roles, permissions, workflows, and data structures to meet operational, educational, and SEND requirements.
- Ensure systems are correctly structured to support school/classroom operations, SEND plans, interventions, attendance, behaviour, and safeguarding processes.
- Support onboarding of new schools, services, and users onto education platforms.
- Work closely with school leaders, teachers, and SEND teams to understand system requirements that support classroom delivery and individual learner needs.
- Ensure applications effectively support SEND processes, including EHCP-related data, interventions, progress tracking, and reporting.
- Provide system support that enables consistent, high-quality educational provision across Compass education settings.
- Support statutory and regulatory data requirements related to education and SEND.
- Provide day-to-day support to education, SEND, and operational users across systems.
- Develop and maintain user guidance, process documentation, and training materials.
- Deliver training sessions and ongoing support to promote confident system use and data accuracy.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for system-related queries from schools and education teams.
- Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in IT systems administration, education technology, or information systems.
- Vendor training or certification in Bromcom, CPOMS, or education MIS platforms desirable.
- Training or experience related to data protection and safeguarding systems advantageous.
- Proven experience administering applications within an education, childcare, or SEND-focused environment.
- Hands‑on experience supporting school‑based or education operational systems (e.g. MIS, safeguarding, attendance, behaviour).
- Experience working with Bromcom, CPOMS, or similar education platforms highly desirable.
- Experience supporting users in a multi‑site or multi‑school environment.
- Familiarity with safeguarding, SEND processes, and education compliance requirements.
