About the Role
Compass Associates are proud to be partnering with a highly regarded not-for-profit healthcare provider in the search for an Occupational Therapist to join their specialist care service in Worthing. This is an excellent opportunity for a HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist looking to make a genuine difference within an elderly care and rehabilitation setting. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support residents to maximise their independence, improve functional ability and enhance their overall quality of life.
You will carry out comprehensive assessments, develop person-centred intervention plans and provide practical guidance to both residents and staff to ensure the highest standards of care and rehabilitation are delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver occupational therapy assessments and personalised intervention plans.
- Support residents to maximise independence through rehabilitation and enablement.
- Work closely with Physiotherapists and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Train and support care staff to implement therapy recommendations.
- Complete risk assessments relating to daily living activities and independence.
- Advise on therapy equipment and environmental adaptations.
- Liaise with community services and external healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to audits, service development and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Experience working with older adults and/or individuals with physical disabilities or cognitive impairments.
- Strong communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills.
- Passion for delivering high-quality person-centred care.
Desirable:
- Experience within elderly care, rehabilitation, care homes or community settings.
- Knowledge of dementia care and falls prevention.
