Overview

Compass Associates is recruiting on behalf of a specialist provider of supported living services for adults with learning disabilities and autism, currently going through an exciting period of growth. This newly created role offers the opportunity to build an in-house training function from the ground up, having previously relied on outsourced provision.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate trainer to make the role genuinely their own, working closely with senior leadership to design and deliver training that reflects the needs of a growing, values-led organisation.

The Role

As the organisation's first in-house trainer, you will take the lead on delivering and coordinating training across the staff team, working closely with the senior leadership team based in West Wickham. You will deliver care certificate competencies and observations directly within services, reducing the need for staff to be taken off-site for training.

You will also be involved in designing bespoke training around specific client needs, including moving and handling training tailored to individual equipment requirements. With a full staff team to bring up to standard, the first six months will be a busy and rewarding period of embedding training across the organisation.

β€’ Hands-on experience working with adults with learning disabilities and autism, gained within a supported living or residential service – this is non-negotiable

β€’ Moving and handling, first aid, diabetes, and epilepsy training experience desirable

β€’ Strong sector knowledge of learning disabilities and autism, or significant crossover experience such as mental health

β€’ Full UK driving licence, required for travel between services

β€’ A genuine passion for imparting knowledge and developing others

Desirable:

β€’ Previous experience working as a trainer within health and social care

β€’ The opportunity to build and shape a brand new training function

β€’ Full support from a close-knit senior leadership team
