Please read carefully before applying: this role requires hands-on, direct experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism within a supported living or residential care setting. This is essential and non-negotiable.
\n
\n
Overview
\n
\n
Compass Associates is recruiting on behalf of a specialist provider of supported living services for adults with learning disabilities and autism, currently going through an exciting period of growth. This is a health and social care training role, not a classroom teaching position you will be training care staff, within care settings, on the skills needed to support adults with learning disabilities and autism.
\n
\n
This newly created role offers full ownership of the organisation's training matrix and mandatory training programme, having previously relied on outsourced provision. It is a fantastic opportunity for someone who already knows this client group inside out, and wants to move from delivering direct support into shaping how a whole staff team is trained to deliver it.
\n
\n
The Role
\n
\n
As the organisation's first in-house Learning and Development Coordinator, you will take ownership of the training matrix, mandatory training programme, and staff development records, working closely with the Registered Manager, Project Managers and Team Leaders based in West Wickham. You will plan, coordinate and deliver mandatory and specialist training, and assess staff competency following training.
\n
\n
You will deliver training directly within services wherever possible including care certificate competency sign-off, moving and handling, and autism and learning disability awareness training reducing the need for staff to be taken off-site. With a full staff team to bring up to standard, the first six months will be a busy and rewarding period of embedding training across the organisation.
