We are looking for a Superintendent Mammographer to join a tight knit team with a Breast Imaging Unit located in their private hospital based in Birmingham. Alongside the Mammography department, this role also has managerial oversight in plain film and ultrasound.

The successful candidate will provide leadership to the team and undertake all Mammography procedures including scanning, screening, assisting with biopsies and ultrasounds. Rotations into either plain film or CT, dependent on your experience, is essential.

What are we looking for?

  • HCPC Registration.
  • BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
  • UK PgC in Mammography or equivalent.
  • 4+ years UK based experience as a Mammographer.
  • Previous management experience as a Lead or Superintendent.
  • Relevant knowledge of local guidelines and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of the Breast Imaging Unit, providing efficient and cost-effective service and professional leadership of the mammography team, ensuring high standards of patient care and diagnostic imaging.
  • Participate in the development of the imaging department as well as, strategic and business planning of the mammography service.
  • Provide mentorship to staff undertaking their PgC in Mammography.
  • Reviewing staff training, CPD and assisting with staff appraisals.
  • Monitoring staffing levels, skills mixes and rotas using workday.
  • Rotations in mammography, plain film and CT.

Working Hours

This is a full-time permanent position covering 37.5 hours a week. The service is open Monday to Friday 08:00 – 18:00. Your typical week will consist of five 7.5 hour shifts.
