I am currently looking for a motivated & career driven Optometrist to join this highly skilled team in this well-respected Specialist Eye Hospital based in Brighton, they have been delivering the best patient care transforming the quality of people’s vision for over 15 years, you’ll be working around some of the best Ophthalmologist in the industry with plenty of options to develop yourself & grow your skills.

You will be a motivated & enthusiastic person, passionate with a can-do attitude, you will be keen to progress your career & develop yourself, you will have an interest in learning YAG, you will be self-motivated with a pro-active attitude you will have a great patient interaction and care with a put the patients first mentality.

Requirements

  • GOC Registered.
  • Must Have UK Based Experience
  • Previous Refraction experience (Must Have)
  • Experience of Using Patient Administration Systems & Electronic Medical Record Systems

Responsibilities

  • Carry out examinations that are associated with cataract glaucoma and retinal surgeries.
  • Run acute and follow up clinics post-surgery for all patients.
  • Provide health advice and support to patients attending the hospital.
  • Provide first line clinical advice to patients and follow the appropriate means of referral to a medical practitioner if necessary.
  • Ensure awareness of the uses, safety precautions and handling of equipment within the clinical competency framework.
  • Ensure awareness of CQC policies and updates, attending all mandatory update courses
  • Help to control cross infection by enforcing Hospital policy regarding Uniform Policy, the maintenance of a clean working environment, decontamination and sterilisation procedures.
  • Follow correct procedures for documenting and reporting any accident or incident.
  • Proactively identify ways to improve processes and service to ensure a streamlined, efficient and high-quality service is offered to patients
  • Build relationships with patients during their consultation to ensure that their individual needs are understood and that this is matched to the most suitable treatment solution
  • Proactively provide explanations to patient around treatment and ensure all patient questions are answered fully
  • Responsible for achieving set conversion rates from consultation to booking of treatment
  • Ensure compliance with relevant pre-authorisation processes and collection of surgery deposits
  • Travel to hospital sites as required for training or meetings
