We are supporting a growing, 3-vet practice near Glasgow as they look to continue their development with the appointment of a new Veterinary Surgeon. Our practice owners have seen how dramatically the veterinary market has changed in the UK and wanted to offer something different. We converted a previously derelict building into a truly state-of-the-art veterinary practice.
We have tonnes of ward space for cats, dogs, and small mammals, and a large laboratory for in-house analysis testing. There is a broad range of consulting expertise from our experienced surgeons, as well as all sorts of surgical offerings. We do have to refer some surgical work out but always try to keep our clients in-house for client continuity.
The practice operates on a Field of Dreams philosophy: build a good service and reputation, and clients will come. We brand ourselves as the stark opposite of our competing corporate friends: never pushing unnecessary work or treatments; staff are hired as veterinary professionals, not salespeople, and don’t need to charge hand over fist (our consults are 25% cheaper than the competition!).
The practice is open Monday – Friday and you will either be on an early or late shift – negotiable amongst the team. We do request availability for every other Saturday morning; however, we are onboarding a new weekend-only vet so, if you also have a notice period, you are unlikely to be needed on Saturdays anywhere near as much.
Following an informal call with our recruiter, we would look to invite you to meet the directors for a coffee chat, followed by a visit to the practice to meet the clinical team – and a few of the patients!
- Pension contribution
- ~ 33 days of holiday per year
- RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) professional fees are paid by the practice
- Continuing Professional Development (CPD) budget of £500 per year
- If staff want to pursue specific training that benefits both the individual and the practice, additional funding can be negotiated
- If you are not interested, but know someone who is, we offer £500 vouchers for each successful recommendation.
