LOCATION: Hybrid working (Flexible base - Scotland and wider UK services)
Compass Associates are supporting the search for a commercially focused Group Financial Controller to join a growing, multi-site care and support organisation in a senior finance leadership capacity. This is a high-impact role combining strategic finance, commercial insight and operational support. Working closely with the CFO and senior leadership team, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving financial performance, improving reporting infrastructure and supporting long-term business planning across the organisation.
THE ROLE
- Business partnering with senior operational leaders to analyse and improve commercial performance across multiple services
- Providing meaningful financial insight, analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making
- Leading and developing the finance team, overseeing day-to-day finance operations and outputs
- Production and improvement of management accounts, MI reporting and performance dashboards
- Delivering budgets, forecasts and rolling cashflow modelling
- Variance analysis across key revenue streams, payroll and operational costs
- Supporting continued development of financial systems, reporting tools and data visibility
- Driving process improvement and efficiencies across finance operations
- Supporting audit processes and statutory reporting requirements
- Working closely with the CFO on long-term financial planning and strategic projects
This role offers significant visibility and influence across the organisation and will suit a commercially minded finance leader comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
ABOUT YOU
This opportunity will suit an experienced and commercially focused finance leader who brings:
- Fully qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role
- Strong commercial finance and business partnering capability
- Experience leading and developing finance teams
- Background within multi-site or operationally complex organisations
- Advanced Excel and strong financial modelling capability
- Confidence presenting financial information to senior stakeholders
- Experience improving financial systems, reporting or MI infrastructure
- A proactive, solutions-focused and collaborative leadership style
LOCATION AND WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
Hybrid role with flexibility on base location. Ideal for candidates based in Scotland or the wider UK with ability to travel as required. Blend of home working and regular engagement with senior leadership teams.
CANDIDATE SUITABILITY NOTE
