Full-time | Permanent | Exclusive to Compass Associates
Are you an experienced Registered Manager looking for more autonomy? Do you thrive in services where you can stabilise, rebuild and make a genuine impact? Are you confident leading complex dementia care while also driving occupancy and commercial performance? Then this could be the role for you!
We are exclusively supporting a growing elderly care provider in the appointment of a Registered Manager for a 70-bed complex dementia care home based in Stapleford, Nottingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced care home manager who enjoys autonomy, culture change and the chance to make a genuine impact. The home has strong foundations in place, including a Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead, but now requires a confident, energetic and commercially minded Registered Manager to provide clear leadership and drive the service forward.
The home is currently operating at 37 residents, with significant scope to grow occupancy, improve the private fee mix and build the home’s local reputation. The provider has a successful operating model across its wider portfolio, including homes achieving full occupancy, low staff turnover and strong regulatory outcomes, and is now looking to replicate this success within its Nottingham services.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day leadership, performance and compliance of the home. You will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing a 70-bed complex dementia care home.
- Providing fresh energy, structure and strategic direction to the service.
- Driving occupancy growth and supporting the home’s commercial development.
- Reducing agency reliance and building a stable, permanent staff team.
- Creating a positive, accountable and resident-focused culture.
- Working closely with the Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead to maintain strong care standards.
- Developing staff confidence and capability around complex dementia care.
- Promoting the home locally to families, professionals and referral partners.
- Ensuring quality, compliance and CQC standards are consistently maintained.
- Working with central support functions across finance, systems and administration.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will need to be an experienced care home manager with a strong understanding of nursing, dementia and complex care environments. You will ideally have:
- Previous Registered Manager or senior home management experience.
- Strong experience within nursing home environments.
- Confidence leading complex dementia care services.
- A track record of improving occupancy and commercial performance.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams through change.
- Experience improving culture, reducing agency and developing permanent teams.
- Good understanding of CQC expectations and quality improvement.
- A positive, hands-on and solutions-focused leadership style.
- Commercial awareness and confidence representing the home externally.
A clinical qualification would be advantageous, although not essential. Candidates from larger corporate providers who are seeking more autonomy and the opportunity to make their own mark would be particularly well suited.
The Provider
The home is part of a growing care group with a clear focus on stabilising and strengthening its current portfolio before further expansion. The organisation offers centralised support across finance, billing and systems, allowing the Registered Manager to focus on leadership, quality, people and commercial performance. The provider has a specialist dementia care programme in place, supported by accredited training, and is looking for a manager who can help embed this approach and build confidence across the team.
Why Apply?
This is an excellent opportunity for a manager who wants to take ownership of a home with real potential. Key reasons to consider the role include:
- Exclusive opportunity through Compass Associates.
- Genuine opportunity to lead a fresh start.
- Strong Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead already in post.
- Autonomy to implement ideas and shape the home’s culture.
- Clear opportunity to drive occupancy and commercial growth.
- Centralised support functions to reduce administrative pressure.
- Future bonus potential linked to occupancy performance.
- Growing organisation with long-term progression opportunities.
- Chance to specialise in complex dementia care and develop the team.
Location
The home is based in Nottingham, and is commutable from Nottingham, Stapleford, Derby, Ilkeston, Beeston, Long Eaton, Mansfield, Loughborough and surrounding areas.
Salary & Package
The salary on offer is between £45,000 – £50,000, depending on experience. The package also includes statutory annual leave, pension and future bonus potential once the home reaches target occupancy.
