Overview

Compass Associates are proud to be working with a leading adult social care provider, supporting them in the appointment of a Regional Operations Manager to join their senior operational leadership team. Our client is dedicated to providing high-quality residential and supported living services for adults with complex needs. With strong backing, high levels of autonomy, and plans for future expansion, the business invests heavily in its leadership team to empower service managers, elevate regulatory compliance, and deliver exceptional care outcomes across the region.

The Role

As a Regional Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing a portfolio of adults supported across residential and supported living services. Drawing on your management experience within adult social care (specifically Learning Disabilities, Autism, or Mental Health), you will lead, mentor, and empower Registered Managers (many of whom are rising stars within the organisation), guiding them through complex operational challenges and helping them excel. This is a dynamic operational leadership role that offers significant autonomy to implement turnaround strategies, drive quality improvements, and maintain top-tier CQC compliance stats. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, you will bring energy and determination to set high standards and foster a healthy, competitive culture across regions. You will be based regionally across Lancashire, Cheshire, and Greater Manchester, dividing your time between home, head office in Warrington, and service visits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide robust oversight and support to Registered Managers across a portfolio of residential and supported living services.
  • Drive compliance standards, regulatory ratings, and quality assurance initiatives to achieve outstanding service outcomes.
  • Implement operational turnaround strategies and exercise high levels of autonomy to develop and improve service delivery.
  • Mentor and guide both new and experienced Registered Managers, supporting them with complex incidents and decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership, quality teams, and local authorities to build strong relationships and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in a 1-in-8 tiered weekend on-call rota to provide senior escalation support when required.
  • Foster a positive, high-performing environment that encourages regional excellence and active community involvement.

Requirements

  • Strong background within Adult Social Care, specifically supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, or Mental Health needs (Step-ups from Registered Manager level welcomed).
  • Proven leadership and operational management skills, with the ability to coach, guide, and empower service managers.
  • Thorough understanding of CQC regulations, quality frameworks, and adult social care best practices.
  • Ambitious, proactive, and competitive mindset with a drive to maintain high compliance ratings.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, and head office in Warrington.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with local authorities and regulators.
  • Previous experience in a Regional Operations Manager or Quality Manager role.
  • Experience handling service turnarounds or leading teams through regulatory inspections.

Please note that candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

Working Pattern

Full-time role (mixture of service visits, Warrington head office presence, and home working), with regional travel across Lancashire, Cheshire, and Greater Manchester.
