Summary: Compass Associates is recruiting on behalf of a specialist supported living provider in Surrey for an experienced Care Manager to take on a multi-site role across four services in Redhill and Reigate. This is a varied and autonomous position overseeing the care and support of adults with mental health needs across dispersed sites, with full responsibility for a permanent and bank staff team.

Our client is a well-established provider delivering supported living services for adults with mental health diagnoses across Surrey. The organisation is currently in a period of positive service development and is looking for a confident, hands-on leader to drive quality and help shape how support is delivered across the sites.

The Role of Care Manager:

  • You will take operational responsibility for four supported living services two in Redhill and two in Reigate supporting adults with a range of mental health needs and diagnoses.
  • You will lead a mixed team of permanent and bank staff and hold overall accountability for the quality and consistency of support delivered across all sites.
  • You will report into the senior management team and play a key role in ongoing service development and change management across the sites.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide strong, values-led leadership across four supported living services, building a positive and consistent team culture across dispersed sites.
  • Oversee person-centred support planning and risk management for tenants with varying mental health needs and diagnoses, including individuals subject to a Section.
  • Lead and manage a dispersed staff team across multiple sites, including recruitment, induction, supervision and performance management.
  • Drive ongoing change management across the services, supporting staff and tenants through a period of positive service development.
  • Manage housing support functions including tenancies, benefit claims, rent and arrears.
  • Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and organisational policies.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with local authority practitioners, health professionals, families and external partners.

Requirements:

  • Experience managing supported living or residential services for adults with mental health needs.
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing dispersed teams across multiple sites.
  • Sound knowledge of mental health conditions, associated risks and recovery-focused approaches, including experience supporting individuals under Section.
  • Working knowledge of safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, the Care Act and relevant housing support legislation.
  • Confident in housing management, including tenancy support, benefit claims and arrears.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities across dispersed services.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle essential given the multi-site nature of the role.

The organisation is open to experienced Deputy Managers who are ready to make the step up into a Care Manager position, provided they can evidence strong multi-site leadership, change management experience and the ability to perform under pressure.
