Compass Associates are partnering with a growing, privately owned care provider to appoint a Regional Operations Director across the Midlands and South. With over 30 homes, the group is entering a sustained period of growth, backed by a strong acquisition pipeline and clear long-term strategy.
This is a high-impact, senior leadership role where you will take ownership of a significant region, working directly with the Group Operations Director to drive performance, strengthen standards, and scale quality alongside growth. This is not a steady-state role. It is suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment and is comfortable balancing hands-on operational input with strategic oversight.
The Role
- You will lead a portfolio of homes across the South, taking full responsibility for operational performance, quality, and leadership capability.
- A key part of the remit is being visible and embedded in the homes, supporting, challenging, and developing Home Managers to deliver consistently strong outcomes.
- You will operate as the link between the frontline and senior leadership, ensuring clarity, accountability, and pace across the region.
Core Focus
- Leadership and Development: Build strong, accountable Home Manager teams, coaching, stretching, and supporting performance.
- Operational Performance: Drive occupancy, cost control, and overall commercial performance across the region.
- Quality and Compliance: Ensure homes are consistently aligned with CQC standards and inspection-ready.
- Hands-On Support: Step into services where required, stabilising, improving, and setting direction.
- Performance Management: Identify risk early, implement clear action plans, and follow through to delivery.
- Culture and Engagement: Create a culture of ownership, accountability, and pride across your homes.
- Systems and Structure: Embed effective processes, reporting, and use of digital systems to support decision-making.
What They’re Looking For
This role requires an established operator, someone credible, decisive, and comfortable leading from the front. You will bring:
- Proven experience operating at Regional or multi-site level within elderly care.
- A strong understanding of CQC expectations and what good looks like in practice.
- The ability to balance support and challenge with Home Managers.
- Commercial awareness across occupancy, payroll, and cost control.
- A visible, hands-on leadership style.
- The confidence to step into underperforming services and drive improvement quickly.
- A clinical background or NMC PIN is beneficial, but not essential.
Why This Role
- A growing provider with clear ambition and backing.
- Genuine autonomy to shape your region.
- A role that combines strategy with operational influence.
- Direct exposure to senior leadership and growth plans.
- The opportunity to make a visible impact across multiple services.
The Package
- Competitive base salary.
- Performance-related bonus.
- Company vehicle or car allowance.
- Private healthcare.
- Flexible working model.
Process
This will be a streamlined, two-stage process, focused on both experience and leadership style.
