An established and highly regarded provider of specialist children's residential care is seeking an experienced Regional Operations Manager / Responsible Individual to oversee a cluster of single-occupancy children's homes supporting young people with complex trauma histories and highly challenging needs.

This role is particularly well-suited to a strong Registered Manager ready to take the next step into multi-site and regional leadership, or an existing Operations Manager seeking a new challenge within a growing organisation.

Reporting into the Regional Director, you will take responsibility for a cluster of children's homes, providing strategic and operational oversight across all aspects of service delivery. You will lead and support a team of Registered Managers and wider residential teams, ensuring services consistently operate safely, effectively and in line with regulatory requirements.

This is a genuine development opportunity for a Registered Manager looking to step up, with structured support available to transition into regional leadership responsibility whilst maintaining strong operational backing.

The organisation is currently undergoing a period of sustained growth, with additional homes planned to open this year, creating genuine opportunities for progression and long-term career development within a supportive and collaborative leadership structure.

  • Provide operational leadership across a well-established cluster of specialist children's residential homes.
  • Maintain oversight of safeguarding, compliance, quality assurance, staffing, audits, incidents and inspections.
  • Support services through Ofsted inspections, driving continuous improvement and positive inspection outcomes.
  • Work closely with home leaders to ensure consistent compliance with children's residential regulations and best practice standards.
  • Identify performance challenges quickly and implement effective improvement plans where required.
  • Play a key role in recruitment, retention and workforce development, helping to build resilient and sustainable teams.
  • Act as the key operational link between services and senior leadership, escalating risks and driving improvement initiatives where necessary.
  • Balance a strong presence within services with strategic oversight of performance, compliance and quality outcomes.

Significant experience within children's residential care, ideally as a Registered Manager or above.

A strong understanding of the day-to-day operation of children's homes.

Proven leadership capability with the ability to drive performance and hold teams accountable.

In-depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations, inspection frameworks and compliance requirements.

A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
