Compass Associates is excited to be collaborating alongside one of the UK’s leading providers of high-quality Specialist Education and Children’s Care. Their services support children with a variety of emotional, behavioural, and learning difficulties, utilising a therapeutic approach rooted to create a safe and nurturing environment. Together, we are looking for the right Deputy Headteacher to join their established Specialist SEMH School in Shrewsbury.
The Opportunity
As Deputy Headteacher, you will work closely with the Headteacher and wider leadership team to support the day-to-day running of the school, lead on key areas such as quality of education, behaviour, or inclusion, drive high standards in teaching, learning, and pupil outcomes, contribute to whole school development and overall help embed a consistent, positive culture across the staff team.
Work Pattern
Full time, term-time only, Monday – Friday. This opportunity is commutable from Telford, Wolverhampton, Oswestry, Newtown, Welshpool, etc.

- Significant experience supporting learners with SEMH needs, preferably in a trauma‑informed environment
Qualifications
- Leadership experience within a SEND or specialist school setting
- Must hold QTS and at least 3 years’ recent relevant teaching experience
- NPQH or MEd or willingness to work towards it
- Secondary training preferred
