Compass Associates is working in partnership with a highly regarded elderly care provider in the recruitment of an Area Director. Our client operates a well-established portfolio of nursing and residential care homes across the UK and is seeking an experienced senior leader to oversee their homes across the Northeast.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation with an excellent reputation for quality and resident-centred care, at a time of continued investment and growth. The appointment of an Area Director forms a key part of strengthening the regional leadership structure and supporting ongoing operational excellence.
As an Area Director, you will have overall responsibility for the operational, commercial, and regulatory performance of a defined portfolio of elderly nursing and residential care homes. You will provide strong, visible leadership across the region, working closely with Registered Managers to drive high standards of care, compliance, and financial performance.
You will ensure all homes operate in line with CQC regulations and best practice, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and person-centred care. A key part of the role will be coaching, developing, and supporting Registered Managers, ensuring they are equipped to lead high-performing, compliant services.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of how to run a commercially successful region while never compromising on care quality. You will be confident analysing performance data, managing budgets, improving occupancy, and delivering sustainable growth, while maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience in a similar regional leadership position.
- A background in the elderly care home sector.
- Must be able to commit to travel across the Northeast.
- A driving licence and own vehicle are required.
Location
This is a regional role covering areas such as Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Stockton on Tees, Whitby, York, Carlisle, Durham and Scarborough.
