Compass Associates are currently working in partnership with a highly reputable retirement living organisation, who are opening a new development in Shropshire later in 2026. This will be another community to add to their already strong portfolio, where older adults are free to live on their own terms; supported by kindness, surrounded by opportunity and able to enjoy a richer, more connected later life.

We are seeking a Sales Counsellor to play a vital role by building long‐lasting meaningful relationships with individuals across the community while nurturing a strong pipeline of individuals for the soon‐to‐be opened retirement village. This role focuses on relationship building and a prospect‐centred selling approach rather than a traditional sales background.

Responsibilities
  • Build trusted relationships with prospective residents and their families
  • Maintain, grow and nurture a high‐quality lead pipeline using our CRM
  • Deliver empathetic, prospect‐centred selling that focuses on individual goals, fears and motivations
  • Conduct home visits where appropriate to better understand needs and living situations
  • Create advocates by delivering warm, meaningful experiences from first contact to move‐in
  • Represent the business within the community with authenticity and confidence
  • Develop relationships with local estate agents, financial advisers, social groups and influencers
  • Support events, talks, open days and presentations
  • Guide prospects through the journey from initial enquiry to reservation and move‐in
  • Conduct tours of the retirement village, showing how our community may enhance quality of life
  • Communicate clear, transparent information about rental and sale options
  • Work to agreed targets while maintaining warmth, integrity and ethical practice at all times
Requirements
  • Natural warmth, emotional intelligence and the ability to build rapport quickly
  • High integrity, strong ethical judgement and a calm, reassuring demeanour
  • Genuine enjoyment of working with older adults and families
  • Strong communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal
  • Resilience, curiosity and creativity in how you support people through change
  • Comfortable working towards clear goals and targets
  • Full UK driving licence
