Regional Director – Nursing Homes
Location: London / Essex / Kent (South Region)
Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 + 20% Quarterly Bonus + Benefits
The Opportunity
Compass Associates have been engaged to appoint an experienced Regional Director to oversee a portfolio of five nursing homes across the South Region. This is a search on behalf of a respected care provider undergoing an important phase of quality and operational improvement.
The region includes a mixture of Good, Requires Improvement, and Inadequate homes, offering the incoming leader a genuine opportunity to stabilise performance, embed consistency, and shape the culture across multiple services.
This role is suited to someone who thrives in a hands-on, visible leadership position, with the ability to drive both compliance and commercial outcomes in equal measure.
The Role
The Regional Director will take responsibility for c.320 beds across London, Essex and Kent, providing strong operational oversight, supporting Home Managers, and working closely with senior leadership to deliver sustainable improvements.
You will balance strategic focus with a practical, on-the-ground approach ensuring the region is operating safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory and organisational expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clear, motivational leadership to Home Managers across five nursing homes.
- Drive compliance and quality improvement across a mixed-performing region.
- Strengthen commercial performance, occupancy, and financial management.
- Support turnaround activity within underperforming services.
- Build a positive, engaged culture aligned with organisational values.
- Collaborate with the senior team to implement regional consistency and best practice.
Who You Are
- An experienced Regional Director / Operations Manager within adult social care.
- Ideally nurse-qualified (though strong non-clinical operators will be considered).
- Skilled in managing mixed portfolios with both stable and underperforming homes.
- Commercially astute, quality-led, and confident leading through change.
- Based within a reasonable commute of London, Essex or Kent (this is not a relocation role).
- Calm, resilient, and able to influence, challenge, and support senior leaders and Home Managers.
