Finance Director | Elderly Care Home-based (UK-wide travel)

Salary: Circa £100,000 + bonus + excellent benefits Requirements Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Senior finance leadership experience within a commercially complex, multi-site organisation Strong track record across financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and Board-level reporting Confidence operating across matrix or shared-service structures The Role Compass Associates are retained on a confidential search for an incoming Finance Director on behalf of a highly respected, values-led elderly care provider.

This is a pivotal Executive Leadership Team and Board appointment.

The remit is significantly broader than a traditional finance seat and spans financial strategy, property and estates, governance, risk and organisational assurance, with executive oversight of shared IT services.

Working directly with the Chief Executive and Board, the successful candidate will strengthen commercial performance across the portfolio, lead the financial planning cycle, sharpen management information, and support the strategic development of the estate.

Candidate We are seeking a commercially minded, pragmatic finance leader with genuine curiosity about the operational drivers of care - occupancy, fee mix, staffing, agency and home-level profitability.

You will combine technical financial credibility with strong commercial instinct and the confidence to move fluently between Board strategy and practical operational conversations.

Experience in social care, healthcare, hospitality, property or another multi-site consumer-facing environment would be highly advantageous, as would exposure to group, subsidiary or charitable ownership structures, Company Secretarial duties, or leading significant systems and organisational change.

Above all, the successful candidate will be motivated by purpose and comfortable in an organisation where commercial success translates directly into meaningful human impact.
