Compass Associates are exclusively partnering with a well-established private healthcare organisation to appoint an Operations Director into a newly established senior leadership position. The Opportunity

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across all non-clinical functions, ensuring the organisation delivers an outstanding patient experience whilst maintaining the highest standards of operational performance, compliance and governance. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring an individual who can balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, leading multidisciplinary operational teams and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all non-clinical operational functions across the healthcare facility.
  • Drive operational performance, service excellence and an exceptional patient experience.
  • Provide leadership across Estates, Facilities Management, Health & Safety and Information Governance.
  • Oversee third-party contractors and key supplier relationships.
  • Lead operational improvement projects and support future service development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and governance requirements.
  • Develop, mentor and inspire operational management teams.
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Leadership Team to deliver organisational objectives.
  • Manage departmental budgets, monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and high performance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Significant senior operational leadership experience within the private healthcare sector.
  • Experience managing operational services within a hospital or comparable healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, Information Governance, Estates and Facilities Management.
  • Experience delivering operational change and service improvement programmes.
  • Commercial awareness with strong financial and budget management capabilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Previous private healthcare experience is essential.
  • Business development or commercial experience would be advantageous.
