Qualification: Background in Wellbeing, Activities, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Care or related field

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum (Full Time Equivalent)

Location: Hybrid working remotely / Peripatetic working across multiple sites

Hours: 22.5 – 28 hours per week with potential to go up to 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday)

About the Role

Compass Associates are proud to be working in partnership with a respected veterans’ charity to recruit a Head of Wellbeing for their residential care services. This is a senior, organisation-wide leadership role responsible for shaping and embedding a consistent, high-quality approach to wellbeing across multiple homes. You will provide strategic leadership, professional guidance and operational oversight to wellbeing teams, ensuring residents experience meaningful, person-centred programmes that enhance quality of life, independence and emotional wellbeing. Working closely with Home Managers, the Head of Dementia and the Head of Innovation, you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, innovation and measurable outcomes across all wellbeing activity. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced wellbeing or therapy professional who is passionate about delivering creative, evidence-based and person-centred support within a values-led charity environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of wellbeing services across all homes
  • Develop and implement an organisation-wide Wellbeing Strategy aligned to organisational vision
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality, person-centred wellbeing programmes
  • Provide coaching, supervision and development to wellbeing teams across sites
  • Work closely with Home Managers to monitor performance, training needs and outcomes
  • Oversee meaningful activity programmes, social engagement and community involvement
  • Lead on personalised goal setting and outcome measurement for residents
  • Ensure day care and lunch club provision is aligned to wider wellbeing strategy
  • Collaborate with the Head of Innovation and Head of Dementia on service development and inclusion
  • Lead pilot projects and evaluate impact across services
  • Develop and maintain wellbeing policies, standards and governance frameworks
  • Produce reports on outcomes, engagement and service quality

Requirements

  • Registered or experienced professional in wellbeing, OT, physiotherapy, social care or related field
  • Proven leadership experience across teams or multiple sites
  • Strong understanding of person-centred care, frailty and quality of life frameworks
  • Experience designing, developing or improving wellbeing programmes
  • Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to use data and outcomes to drive service improvement
  • Creative, proactive and improvement-focused mindset

Desirable:

  • Experience in residential, nursing or dementia care settings
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and regulatory frameworks (e.g. CQC)
  • Experience in intergenerational or community engagement programmes
  • Project management or quality improvement experience

Location & Travel

This is a hybrid / peripatetic role with regular travel required across multiple residential sites in Worthing, High Wycombe, Surbiton and Solihull. Flexibility to travel nationally is essential.
