A well-established first opinion practice in Walworth, London is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their welcoming and dedicated team.
About the Practice
This modern, purpose-built surgery offers a full range of services, from routine vaccinations and health checks through to diagnostics and advanced surgical procedures, and continues to grow with a loyal and engaged client base, with approximately 60% of clients insured. The practice offers referrals for Orthopaedics, Soft Tissue Surgery, Exotics, and Ophthalmology, with the veterinary team having undertaken advanced training to perform orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures in-house.
The Team
There is a close-knit team in house of 4 vets, 4 nurses, 2 VCA's, 5 CCA's, creating a genuinely supportive and inclusive working environment. All team members are dedicated and make up a compassionate team committed to providing exceptional veterinary care, treating every patient as if they were their own.
The Role
This is a full-time, permanent position with weekends worked on a rotation basis and no out-of-hours. The role offers a varied and hands-on nursing caseload including:
- Schedule 3 procedures
- Taking X-rays and assisting with diagnostic procedures
- Anaesthesia, surgical support, and post-operative care
- Nursing of in-patients, including some intensive care cases
- Pain scoring and implementing enrichment regimes for longer-stay patients
- Supporting and running nurse-led clinics
You will work closely with the veterinary surgeons and senior team members, contributing proactively to the smooth day-to-day running and continued development of the practice.
