An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Regional Manager / Responsible Individual to oversee a small cluster of children’s residential homes across Cumbria. This is an ideal opportunity for a strong operational leader who is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for children and young people, driving quality standards, and supporting Registered Managers to deliver safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environments.
The Role
As Regional Manager / RI, you will provide operational oversight and strategic leadership across a small portfolio of children’s residential homes. You will ensure services remain compliant, financially sustainable, and focused on delivering outstanding care and support to young people with emotional and behavioural needs. You will work closely with Registered Managers to maintain high standards of care, support service development, and ensure homes operate in line with Ofsted regulations and company values.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and operational oversight across a cluster of children’s homes
- Act as Responsible Individual in line with Ofsted regulations
- Support, mentor, and develop Registered Managers and wider teams
- Monitor quality assurance, safeguarding, and compliance across services
- Drive improvement plans and maintain high standards of care and practice
- Ensure homes achieve positive Ofsted outcomes
- Oversee budgets, occupancy, and service performance
- Build effective relationships with local authorities and external professionals
- Promote a positive culture focused on outcomes for children and young people
Requirements
- Significant multi-site management experience within children’s residential care
- Previous experience as a Responsible Individual
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding practices
- Proven ability to support and develop high-performing teams
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence
